Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. prosecutor investigating several legislators

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A published report says an Oklahoma County prosecutor is investigating whether a deal was made to create a state job at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for a senator in exchange for her agreeing not to seek re-election.

According to a copyright story in The Oklahoman, District Attorney David Prater says the multicounty grand jury will conduct the probe involving state Reps. Randy Terrill and Mike Christian and state Sen. Debbe Leftwich.

Prater says it's alleged that Leftwich vacated the seat in order to get the job that was created and so another person, namely Christian could run for her position.

Neither Terrill nor Leftwich immediately returned messages seeking comment Saturday. Neither Prater nor Christian couldn't be reached for comment.

Leftwich and Christian both denied the allegations to The Oklahoman.
