Lankford to Host Indian Affairs Hearing in Anadarko

State Impact-Oklahoma

ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) — U.S. Sen. James Lankford will lead a meeting of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs in Anadarko.

The field hearing will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Anadarko High School auditorium.

Entitled "Advancing Economic Success in Indian Country," the hearing will be focused on business success stories of both tribes and Native American business owners.

Among those expected to testify are Sean Kouplen, chairman of Regent Bank; Dennis Ruttman, superintendent of Caddo Kiowa Technology Center and Dottie Overall, a district director for the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Republican from Edmond, Lankford was elected during a special election last year to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn of Muskogee.
