Land for Center Purchased

By KWGS News

Tulsa, OK – A deal is reached to buy land for a new Tulsa County Juvenile Justice Center.

A contract has been signed to buy a seven and a half acre parcel of land for a future juvenile justice and courts center. The downtown site is currently occupied by Storey Wrecker Service. The local, just south of the jail and only a few blocks from the county courthouse is bordered by Guthrie Avenue on the west, Elwood on the east and Archer on the north and the railroad tracks on the south.

The purchase price is $2.5 million. The new center would replace the old site west of downtown. No funding source to build the new center has yet been identified.
