An appeals court has affirmed a judge's order that the attorney for a former Tulsa police officer charged in the fatal shooting of his daughter's boyfriend provide evidence to prosecutors.

The Tulsa World reports that the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals made the decision on Wednesday in the case of Shannon Kepler.

Authorities say 56-year-old Shannon Kepler shot 19-year-old Jeremey Lake on Aug. 5, 2014 after Lake introduced himself as Lisa Kepler's boyfriend. Authorities also say Kepler shot at his daughter and Lake's 13-year-old brother. Kepler has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill.

Prosecutors and Kepler's attorneys have been instructed to make preparations as if trial proceedings would begin on Monday as scheduled.
