Tulsa and Owasso will keep its J.C. Penney stores, but not Claremore. The company announced today it will close 138 stores nationwide. Three of the stores are in Oklahoma.
In addition to the Claremore store in the Ne-Mar Shopping Center, stores in Ponca City and Stillwater will be closing. Slumping sales from foot-traffic into the stores is the reason, as more people switch to buying on line.
Tulsa is already losing a Sear's and Macy's stores.
