Fire fighters from Inola and other surrounding towns battled a massive wild fire overnight. It may have been started by a downed power line, just off Highway 412.
The fire, east of Inola in Mayes County, at one point was nearly three miles wide. It is now under control, but with the brisk winds, fire fighters are watching for hot spots. The fire did get close, but did not damage homes in the area.
