Hugo Man Drowns after Vehicle Stalls on Flooded Road

KWGS News

HUGO, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Hugo man drowned after leaving his vehicle when it stall on a flooded road in Choctaw County.

An OHP report says the body of 34-year-old Williams Gamblin was recovered Friday morning near where he disappeared Thursday night about four miles north of Hugo.

The report says Gamblin's vehicle became disabled in water over the road about 11:45 p.m. Thursday and he walked out to get help, then walked back to the vehicle to retrieve personal items. Gamblin then stepped into a dip in the road and went under water and did not resurface.
