Horse Racing is Back at Fair Meadows

An about-face this afternoon for the Tulsa Fair Board.

After learning the Fair Meadow race track had signed contracts for horse racing events next year, the board voted this afternoon to rescind its naming rights agreement with the Creek Nation. That agreement called for an end of horse racing at the track.

The Creeks had offered almost one-and-half million dollars a year if the Expo Center would be renamed the Muscogee-Creek Nation Center. That deal will now be reworked and the amount, most likely reduced.
