Highway to be Dedicated to Worker's Memory
By KWGS News
A section of US-75 in Washington County will be named after an Oklahoma Department of Transportation employee who was killed in the line of duty.
Ira Henderson was an employee of the ODOT Washington County Maintenance crew for five months when he was struck by a vehicle inside a workzone on US-75 near Ramona last November. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, Henderson's family, friends and co-workers will honor his memory by dedicating the Ira Lee Henderson Memorial Highway.
This section of highway is located just north of Ramona in Washington County. The dedication event will take place at the ODOT Maintenance Facility located in Bartlesville. Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley and transportation officials are scheduled to attend.
