High Speed Rail for Tulsa?

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has approved $63 million for the next phase of the Crosstown Expressway project in Oklahoma City.

Officials said Monday that this part of the $600 million project is the most complex because of extensive work involving city streets, rail lines, drainage and other work.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation Director Gary Ridley also said the agency has applied for money from President Obama's high-speed rail plan.

The preliminary applications include improvements between Tulsa and the Texas state line south of Ardmore.

The route is part of the nationally designated south-central high-speed rail corridor that also includes Dallas, San Antonio and Houston.
