TO 7 PM CDT TUESDAY...

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IS IN EFFECT...

FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

* IN OKLAHOMA...CREEK...OKMULGEE...TULSA...ROGERS...SEQUOYAH...
WAGONER AND MUSKOGEE.

IN ARKANSAS...CRAWFORD...SEBASTIAN AND FRANKLIN.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
* HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE RETURNING TO THE REGION AND WILL
PERSIST THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES
OF 105 TO 110 DEGREES WILL BE COMMON. WARM OVERNIGHT LOW
TEMPERATURES...ESPECIALLY IN THE LARGER URBAN AREAS WILL
PROVIDE LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE INTENSIFYING HEAT. THERE IS
POTENTIAL FOR THIS HEAT WARNING TO BE EXTENDED IN TIME WITH
LATER FORECASTS.

* THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL
COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES
ARE POSSIBLE.
