Tulsa, OK – 7 inducted into Oklahoma Hall of Fame

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Hall of Fame has added seven new members, including a posthumous honor for basketball star and musician Wayman Tisdale. Tisdale died earlier this year at age 44.

Also inducted Thursday by the Oklahoma Heritage Association were OU football great Lee Roy Selmon, Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Steven W. Taylor and Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis.

The Hall of Fame rarely inducts members posthumously. The last one was Woody Guthrie in 2006 and before that, it was Wiley Post in 2004.

Tisdale was a Tulsa native and became a star playing for the University of Oklahoma. He then had a 12-year career in the NBA. He also was a talented musician, and released several albums.

Tisdale's widow, Regina, accepted the award for him.
