Gusty Winds Expected

Oklahoma City, OK – Wind to come sweeping down the Plains

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma will live up to its reputation of being a windy state.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for 29 counties in northern and western Oklahoma through Wednesday night.

Forecasters say winds of 25 to 35 mph could gust as high as 50 mph in the Oklahoma Panhandle and 40 mph elsewhere.

The weather service says the winds may toss loose objects around and create hazardous driving conditions in the advisory area.

Blowing dust may lower visibility to less than a mile in the Panhandle.
