Gubernatorial Debate

By Associated Press

Tulsa, OK – OK gubernatorial candidates lay out first 100 days

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Congresswoman Mary Fallin has outlined her first 100 days in office if she wins the governor's chair.

Fallin said Thursday the most important thing she could do is create the best business climate possible by carrying out reforms that would retain jobs and attract new ones.

Fallin's opponent, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, said there is no "silver bullet" to solve all the problems of Oklahomans, but she said balancing a budget is a top priority.

She also vowed not to balance the budget on the backs of children.

The debate at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa was the final of the meetings between the candidates before the Nov. 2 election.
