Group Wants to Repurpose Closed School
By KWGS News
A Turley community group wants to buy the old Cherokee Elementary School at 60th and North Peoria.
Community Activist, the Reverend Ron Robinson wants to convert the school into a Community Resource Center. He is already working with several groups interested in the posibilities.
The school was closed last year under the Project School House consolidation. It is currently vacant and has been vandalized several times. Robinson just doesn’t to see it become another vacant Turley building.
