Governor's Budget Plan Called 'Disappointing'

File Photo

The head of an Oklahoma think tank says the Governor’s agenda disappoints in many key areas. Director of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, David Blatt, calls it a positive sign that Governor Fallin has significantly scaled back her tax cut proposal, however, he says there should be no tax cuts unless they are revenue neutral and unless the overall issue of tax reform is addressed.

On health care, Blatt is critical of the Governor’s refusal to accept federal funding to expand access to uninsured Oklahomans. And he says her budget fails to adequately address education and corrections needs.
