Ketchum, OK – Fallin spending weekend at algae-infested lake

(Information in the following story is from: Tulsa World, http://www.tulsaworld.com)

KETCHUM, Okla. (AP) Gov. Mary Fallin is vacationing at Grand Lake over the Independence Day weekend and is encouraging others to do the same.

The governor says there's plenty to do at the lake, even though the Grand River Dam Authority has encouraged people not to come into contact with the water because of an infestation of potentially dangerous blue-green algae.

Fallin and her husband, Wade Christiansen, signed papers Friday to buy their new home on the northeastern Oklahoma lake. She tells the Tulsa World they continued with plans for their vacation to show the public it's still possible to "have a great time" at Grand Lake.
