OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Reaching for a law enforcement officer's gun would be a felony crime punishable by up to five years in prison under a bill signed into law by Gov. Mary Fallin.
The bill by Porter Republican Sen. Kim David was one of 17 measures signed into law by the governor on Tuesday.
Under the bill, any attempt to "reach for or gain control of" the firearm of any law enforcement officer or prison worker would be considered assault and battery upon a law officer and punishable by prison time.
