Governor Fallin names Dan Keating to Education Board

Tulsa Community College

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Governor Mary Fallin has appointed Daniel Keating to the State Board of Education.

Keating is the brother of former Governor Frank Keating and will represent the First Congressional District. He replaces Joy Hofmeister, who stepped down from the board.

The Senate must confirm Keating's appointment.

Keating is currently the president of Summit Consolidated Group, a national brokerage and insurance company. He was previously appointed to the Tulsa Community College Board of Regents but resigned to serve on the State Board of Education.

Fallin says Keating has had a lifelong interest in public service. She says Keating knows how important it is to give children the skills necessary to succeed in today's competitive economy.
