GOP PACS Drop Political Consultant Charged with Conspiracy

FountHolland.com

Two political action committees that support Republican legislative candidates in Oklahoma are dropping a political strategist who is charged with conspiracy with state schools Superintendent Joy Hofmeister.

The Senate Majority Fund and the Majority Fund both told The Oklahoman that they'll use a consultant other than Fount Holland.

Both are "super" PACs registered with the Ethics Commission and report their expenditures and contributions.

Holland was Hofmeister's chief consultant during her successful 2014 campaign and is the co-founder of A.H. Strategies, a political consulting firm formed almost two decades ago to support GOP candidates for the Legislature.

Prosecutors say Hofmeister and Holland conspired with others to illegally funnel money into a fund that would finance a negative campaign ad against then-school Superintendent Janet Barresi.

Both Hofmeister and Holland deny wrongdoing.
