Tulsa, OK – Mayor Bartlett to lead half-mile walk downtown

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Mayor Dewey Bartlett is hoping other Tulsans follow his example and take a walk to get healthier.

Bartlett and his wife, Victoria, are leading a half-mile walk through the historical Blue Dome district Tuesday as part of the mayor's "Get Lean Tulsa" initiative.

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at Dilly Deli downtown. The first 20 participants to request "The Dewey" will receive free salads.

In October, Bartlett challenged Tulsans to shape up and lead healthier lifestyles through the "Get Lean Tulsa" fitness and exercise initiative.

The city routinely ranks as one of the unhealthiest cities in the country.
