OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gasoline prices have fallen in Oklahoma — again.
AAA Oklahoma says the state average price for regular gasoline has now dropped for 48 straight days and was $2.27 per gallon on Tuesday. That's the second-lowest state average in the U.S. and the least expensive Oklahoma price since October 2009.
Oklahoma City has a handful of stations with regular gas selling for less than $1.90 per gallon. And Tulsa has seen many stations drop to $1.99 overnight. The national average, now at $2.53, has been plummeting for 82 consecutive days.
AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai says that worldwide, crude oil is in good supply and demand is down. Mai says that's welcome news for motorists but sustained low prices could cause U.S. oil companies to cut production, possibly affecting Oklahoma's economy.
