Free Landfill Day

By Sarah Rayner

Tulsa, OK – Free Landfill Day for Tulsa will take place this weekend, the 22nd and 23rd of October. You can dump your trash at the Quarry Landfill on 46th Street North approximately 1-1/2 miles east of U.S. 169. It will be open from 7 am till 3pm each day.
In order to be admitted into the landfill, participants must show a City of Tulsa utility bill or a driver's license within the Tulsa city limits. No items containing Freon refrigerant, such as air conditioners and refrigerators, will be accepted.
There will also be a $2.50 fee for each discarded tire with rim sizes up to 19.5 inches. For larger tires the fee will be $3.50, and for motorcycle and smaller tires it will be only $1. These fees cover the state fees for disposal and recycling of tires.
All loads in trucks and trailers should be secured and covered to prevent creating traffic hazards and prevent contents from blowing out onto roadways.
