Fort Sill Solider Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

Fort Sill

A Fort Sill soldier has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of another soldier at an apartment in Lawton.

The Lawton-Constitution reports that 22-year-old Pfc. Stephon Threat pleaded guilty Friday at a general court martial at Fort Sill.

Threat also pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and was sentenced to six years in prison, reduction in rank and a dishonorable discharge.

Threat was charged in the December 2015 shooting death of Spc. Trevor Hargrave.

Investigators have said Threat told police the men were drinking and he was playing with a shotgun when it accidentally went off and struck Hargrave in the chest.
