Former Rogers County Commissioner Charged with Embezzlement

KWGS

INOLAesOkla. (AP) — Former Rogers County Commissioner Kirt Lannon Thacker has been arrested after being charged with two counts of embezzlement.

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt says charges of embezzling county property and embezzling county equipment, materials and labor were filed Friday against Thacker. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation later arrested Thacker in Inola.

Thacker was jailed on $30,000 bond. Court documents do not list an attorney for him.

The charges allege that Thacker used county equipment — including a bulldozer, fuel tank, trucks, tractor, backhoe, chain saws and other items — and county employees to build a stock pond and make other improvements to his farm and to repair a private driveway.

Pruitt says Thacker could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted on both counts.
