Former Oklahoma First Lady Ann Bartlett has died. She died last night here in Tulsa. She was married to former Governor and U.S. Senator Dewey F. Bartlett, Sr.  She is also the mother of Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Junior.

She was a native of Washington State and married Bartlett Senior in 1945 in California. Senator Bartlett died of cancer in 1979. Tulsa’s Bartlett Fountain at 5th and Main is named in his honor. They had three children, Dewey, Jr., Michael and Joanie.

Mayor Bartlett said of his mom, “My family just lost the best mother we could have ever hoped to have. She was a woman of incredible grace. Our family was with her when she passed from this life, and she was at peace.”
