Flu Season Is Here

File photo

The first cases of influenza are now being reported in Tulsa County.

Kaitlin Snyder with the Tulsa City-County Health Department says it is not unusual for the first cases to start showing up this time of year. She also says it is not too late to get a flu vaccination.

She says there is plenty of flu vaccine this year and shots are still available. The Health Department offers the injections at all of its clinic locations. The shots are available for everyone over the age of six months. The shots are recommended for anyone in a high risked category, such as the elderly and those with health conditions.
