"Flour: Spectacular Recipes from Boston's Flour Bakery + Cafe"
By Rich Fisher
Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of our show, with the holiday-themed "hosting, cooking, and entertaining" season now in full swing, we're talking about baking with Joanne Chang, who's the chef-owner of the renowned Flour Bakery in Boston. Interestingly, Chang has a degree in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard --- she also lived here in Tulsa for a few years as a kid --- and, in fact, she really only started working as a pastry chef and baker as her second career. This background is described in Chang's new book, which is mainly a collection of such mouth-watering sweet-tooth-satisfiers as Homemade Pop-Tarts, Brioche au Chocolat, Lemon Raspberry Cake, Milky Way Tart, Dried Fruit Focaccia, and Flour's World-Famous Sticky Buns. Chang's volume, just out from Chronicle Books, is "Flour: Spectacular Recipes from Boston's Flour Bakery + Cafe" --- and she joins us by phone on today's StudioTulsa.
