Daniel Bachman, 'Coming Home'

Daniel Bachman hits the road hard and plays harder. His instrumental rags are acoustic pile-drivers that rage with wonder, but his quieter songs can be just as powerful.

Filmed by Jesse Sheppard at St. George's Episcopal Church in downtown Fredericksburg, Va., the guitarist recently sat down with a slide to perform "Coming Home." It's a steady churn, with a melody that's been beaten down but hasn't given up... at least not yet. Bachman writes, "The song pretty much fits my mental state in how I feel coming home from any long run of shows: slow, exhausted, defeated."

Orange Co. Serenade comes out July 15 on Bathetic Records.
