Tulsa, OK – Statement from Dennis Moseby, President of the Tulsa Firefighters Association regarding Mayor Dewey Bartlett's decision today to not allow Tulsa Fire Department to bid on emergency management services system:

"We don't understand the process the Mayor followed to make a major decision that impacts the safety of the public. Our understanding was that this was going to be an open, at-length discussion allowing the public to fully understand what exists today and what improvements could be made in terms of accountability and efficiency. The Mayor's hasty actions contradict his efforts within the city to eliminate redundancy and increase transparency. To not give our proposal a thoughtful review is a disservice to the citizens of Tulsa. We can no longer allow decisions that impact the public to be shrouded in secrecy behind closed doors."
