OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Federal prosecutors say the FBI still possesses more than a dozen guns belonging to Oklahoma City bombing co-conspirator Terry Nichols.

Nichols petitioned a federal judge in July, asking that the guns be turned over to his ex-wife because he owes child support. Nichols argues that guns "had no part" in the 1995 bombing that killed 168 people.

In a report filed Tuesday in federal court in Denver, prosecutors say the FBI has 13 of Nichols' guns and that they're willing to have discussions with Nichols to resolve the issue.

Nichols was convicted of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and of involuntary manslaughter of eight federal agents. He was sentenced to 161 consecutive sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of civilians.
