A man is dead following a home invasion just before dawn today near 51st and South Sheridan.
A resident of the home apparently confronted the burglar and was shot and killed. The shooter fled the scene.
Another person was in the home, possibly the dead man’s wife. Police are talking with her in an attempt to learn more.
The incident happened about 5:15 this morning.
