An exhibition of paintings depicting Frank Lloyd Wright's masterful Fallingwater.
By Rich Fisher
Tulsa, Oklahoma – Today, we hear about a new exhibit at the Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville. The show (which runs through April 26, 2009) is "Fallingwater en Perspectiva," in which Frank Lloyd Wright's landmark "house on the waterfall" is variously depicted in 50 paintings by the Spanish-born artist Felix de la Concha (b. 1962). The artist is our guest today, along with Lynda Waggoner, the Director of Fallingwater (which is located in rural Fayette County, Pennsylvania). As we discover, Wright's 1937 masterwork takes on different looks, moods, and atmospheres at different times of the year, and at different points in the day, and so the paintings in this show offer entirely new vantages on what is probably among the most-photographed buildings in the world. This edition of our show also has a commentary by Ian Shoales (on the buzz-phrase "Flat is the new up").
