McAlester, OK – Man convicted of killing 2 in Tulsa to be executed

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) The state of Oklahoma is scheduled to execute a man convicted of killing his former girlfriend's daughter and her 6-year-old son more than 16 years ago.

Julius Ricardo Young is scheduled to be put to death at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

He requested a final meal of sirloin steak, baked potato, onion rings, tossed salad with bleu cheese dressing and a Coca Cola.

Young was convicted of the 1993 beating deaths of Joyland Morgan and her son, Kewan, at the Morgan's apartment in Tulsa apartment on Oct. 1, 1993. Prosecutors say Young was upset that Morgan's mother had recently broken off their relationship.
