Ex-Delaware County employee accused of embezzling over $180K
JAY, Okla. (AP) — A former general manager of the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority is accused of selling an estimated $180,000 worth of scrap metal and then pocketing the money.
Larry Burrow of Jay was charged Monday with one count of embezzlement. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000 if convicted of the felony charge.
The Miami News-Record reports that the charge is the result of an investigation by the department's current general manager, Kent Vice. Vice began looking into the department's financial affairs in 2014 and found payment discrepancies. He then reported his findings to Delaware County Sheriff's Department.
It wasn't immediately known if Burrow has an attorney.
