An Evening with Garrison Keillor

By December 6 at 7:30pm

At the Mabee Center – Humbly starting his career forty years ago as a part-time disc jockey on Minnesota's Educational Radio, Garrison Keillor has gone on to become a star of radio, stage, page, and screen. A best-selling author and radio personality, Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion boasts a listening base of over eleven million. His live Saturday evening broadcasts showcase a weekly monologue by Keillor entitled The News from Lake Wobegon, the highlight of the show. In Keillor's own words, "Lake Wobegon is a quintessential but fictional Minnesotan small town where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average". Keillor's live engagement sell out from coast to coast and A Prairie Home Companion was recently turned into a major feature film starring Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Steep, Kevin Kline, and Woody Harrelson. Garrison Keillor will take you on a trip through time to a simpler America, delivering humor (and an evening) you'll never forget.
