Skiatook, OK – Figure in Skiatook school bribery scandal arrested

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A vendor accused of paying bribes to obtain contracts from Skiatook Public Schools has been arrested.

The Tulsa World reports that 58-year-old Rickey Lynn Enos of Oklahoma City is charged with four counts of bribery of a public official. His bond at the Tulsa jail was set at $20,000.

Last week, former Skiatook superintendent Gary Johnson pleaded guilty to accepting cash bribes totaling $10,000. Authorities say Enos sold the district janitorial supplies and security equipment.

During his Wednesday guilty plea, Johnson admitted trying to use his influence with the school board regarding the purchase of security and custodial equipment.

A grand jury indictment said the district overpaid by more than $560,000 by using a middleman instead of buying directly from suppliers.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Enos has an attorney.
