Eight More Oklahomans Dead from the Flu

File photo

Influenza continues to take its toll on the Sooner State. Figures released this morning show eight people died of the flu in the last week in the state. That brings the Oklahoma death toll, since the first of October, to 33.

The figures from the state health department indicate 156 people were hospitalized with the flu last week in Oklahoma.

If you drill down into the stats, you'll find one of this week's deaths was here in Tulsa County, where 21 people were hospitalized in the last week.

Health officials implore you to get a flu shot, if you have not already.
