Tulsa, OK – The gubernatorial candidates meet in Tulsa yesterday to discuss early childhood education. For those expecting to see fireworks, they were disappointed. The candidates agreed more than they disagreed over the need.

The Republican candidate for Governor is 5th district congress woman Mary Fallin. She says early childhood education is crucial to Oklahoma's future.

Democrat Jari Askins says the early childhood education means a better start for children and that investment will pay dividends in the long term.

The forum was sponsored by the Inasmuch Foundation and the George Kaiser Family Foundation. The Kaiser foundation is a major contributor to Public Radio Tulsa.
