Drug Conviction

Muskogee, OK – Vian man gets 2 years in prison on drug conviction

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A federal prosecutor says a Vian man convicted of distributing steroids to high school football players has received a two-year prison sentence.

U.S. District Judge James Payne also sentenced 38-year-old Bobby Brown to 48 months of supervised release after the prison term.

A federal jury convicted Brown last November on one count of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of anabolic steroids and one count of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 21.

U.S. Attorney Mark Green says several Vian High School football players received steroids from Brown, who was an assistant coach for the team, from March 2006 to June 2008.
