TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a man in Tahlequah was killed after crashing his car during a pursuit by police.
Tahlequah Police Chief Nate King says the chase began after the driver went through a four-way stop at about 70 miles mph early Thursday. He says a police officer witnessed the incident and attempted to pull over the car, which then sped away.
King tells Tulsa television station KOTV that the officer eventually backed off from his pursuit because of low visibility. A few minutes later, the officer discovered the car rolled over and the driver ejected from it.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
