Despite the Snow; Tulsa County Burn Ban Extended

Despite the weekend ice and snow storm, Tulsa County Commissioners vote 2-1 to keep the Burn Ban in place for another seven days.

Temperatures are expected to warm later in the week and that could signal more wildfires across the region. For that reason, Commissioner Karen Keith and Commission Chair Ron Peters voted to keep the ban in place. District #1 Commissioner John Smaligo favored lifting the ban.

The ban outlaws all outdoor fires, including charcoal grills. Gas and electric grilling is still permitted if the grill is on a hard patio surface.
