Derailment at Tulsa Rail Yard

By KWGS News

Tulsa, OK – Several cars of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train derail at the west Tulsa rail yards near 31st and Highway 75. At least two of the overturned cars were tankers that were carrying a type of fertilizer.

There were no injuries and no leaks from the tankers. The tankers had been carrying anhydrous ammonia but are believed to be empty. Burlington Northern Santa Fe has sent an environmental team to the site to ensure the derailment caused no environmental damage. The company says it's bringing in heavy equipment to clear the area and repair the tracks.
