Democrat Wallace Endorsed by OU President David Boren

OU

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Former Oklahoma Gov. and U.S. Sen. David Boren is endorsing Democrat Rob Wallace in his race for the 2nd Congressional District seat currently held by Boren's son, U.S. Rep. Dan Boren.

Now the president of the University of Oklahoma, David Boren said in a statement that Wallace has a "strong and proven background in prosecution and law enforcement."

Wallace is a longtime state and federal prosecutor and says the elder Boren's endorsement "is another testament to the coalition of support my campaign is building."

Wallace faces Muskogee seed company owner Wayne Herriman in an Aug. 28 Democratic primary runoff.

Dan Boren unexpectedly announced last summer that he wouldn't seek a fifth term in office and has said he won't endorse anyone in the race to succeed him.
