Democrat Gains Have State Republicans Studying Strategy

KWGS News File Photo

Democrats, in two recent special elections, have claimed Republican legislative seats. The most recent was this week in Owasso. Republican Strategist Fount Holland says Republicans are not projecting a clear message.

Holland says the GOP is catching the blame for state budget and education shortfalls. He says the party is being perceived, as not having clear solutions.

He doesn’t expect much fallout this year for Oklahoma Republicans. That is because the attention is on the presidential race.  Holland says, however, in 2018 when state office holders are on the ballot, things could be interesting.
