OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma-based Indian tribe has received a $480,000 federal grant for its tribal transportation program.

The grant awarded to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation by the Federal Highway Administration will pay for safety improvements at a busy intersection in Okmulgee.

The tribe will work with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and Okmulgee County to complete the project.
