Crash Kills Tulsa Construction Worker

File Photo

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a construction worker is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck in Tulsa.

Police say the 59-year-old man was setting up traffic cones along the curb on East 51st Street when he was struck Wednesday night.

Tulsa television station KOTV reports  that the construction worker was dragged about 25 feet after he was struck.

He was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he later died.

Police say the worker was wearing a reflective vest and the truck's driver was going the speed limit. Police say they're awaiting the results of a blood alcohol test to determine if any charges should be filed.
