Coweta Student Kills Self at School

A 15-year-old at the Coweta Intermediate High School is dead after taking his own life earlier in the day. Police and School officials say the teen shot himself in the school restroom about 8:30 this morning. Officials say they don't know the reason, however, others on campus indicate the teen may have been bullied.

Students almost immediately started sending text messages after the sound of the gunshot. One student, told KWGS News, that she had talked with the teen earlier in the morning and he seemed depressed.

Parents rushed to the school to pick-up their children. Classes for the high school were dismissed for the day, however, the lower grades remained in session.

After today's events parents indicated they would like to see tighter security at the Coweta schools.
