'The Cos' Talks Education in Tulsa

Oct 24, 2012

Comedian Bill Cosby addresses the students at Tulsa’s Washington High School. He spoke to Juniors and Seniors, as well as city officials and Cherokee Chief Bill John Baker about the importance of a quality education.

He told students not to be afraid of getting an education. He also offered praise for the role teachers and principals play in the education process.

He told reporters, after his address at the Nathan Harris Field House, that the problems with the U.S. educational system cannot be blamed on the students.  He holds societal influences responsible for the  pressure put on today’s kids to conform.

He called for a three pronged approach to education, saying parents, teachers and the community must work together to instill the desire to learn in children.
