OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is sponsoring its annual Oil and Gas Institute to discuss changes in the state's energy production industry.

The institute is planned Friday in Oklahoma City. It is open to Oklahoma energy producers, attorneys, mineral owners and others involved in the oil and gas sector.

Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy says the institute comes at a time when the energy industry continues to undergo huge changes. Murphy says it's essential that professionals and others involved in the industry keep up with new developments.

The institute will offer panel discussions and presentations on challenges and changes in horizontal drilling and development, ethics, environmental issues related to water and air, the commission's administrative law process, surface owner rights and other areas. The event is co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Bar Association.
